A minimalist 3D stained glass sculpture that explores the relationship between light, structure, and space. Designed and created by Glass on Hudson, this compact pyramid transforms clear beveled glass into a luminous geometric form that shifts subtly with its surroundings.
 
Light and Geometry
Built from four precision-cut beveled glass triangles, the pyramid refracts and redirects light through its faceted surfaces. As light passes through the structure, it creates soft internal reflections and subtle prism effects that change throughout the day, depending on angle and illumination.
 
Form and Structure
The pyramid form emphasizes clarity, balance, and simplicity. Each face is carefully aligned to create a unified geometric volume where transparency and reflection coexist. Though minimal in material, the structure feels visually substantial as light moves through its interior space.
 
Construction
The intention behind this piece was to reinforce a sense of architectural structure within a minimal form. The black finish and copper foil construction were deliberately emphasized to create stronger visual framing, echoing architectural reinforcement and defining the edges of light. This contrast between dark linework and luminous glass strengthens the geometric presence of the sculpture, allowing the form itself to feel more built and grounded.

This piece responds quietly but continuously to its environment. In natural daylight, the glass appears bright and crisp, with clean refractions along each edge. In softer or indirect light, the form becomes more atmospheric, emphasizing shadow, depth, and internal reflection. The result is a constant but subtle shift in visual presence.
 
Handcrafted Construction
Each pyramid is individually cut, polished, and assembled by hand using traditional Tiffany copper foil techniques. The beveled glass enhances clarity and edge definition, allowing light to travel through each surface with precision and softness at the same time.
