This 3D dichroic glass spinner transforms sunlight into shifting color, form, and reflections. Its open snowflake shape is built from six arch-shaped stars, each joined at 90-degree angles to create a dramatic, structural 3D form. The silhouette changes with the viewer’s perspective and light, producing a dynamic, ever-evolving visual experience.
 
Each dichroic star is custom-fabricated, beveled, and wrapped in copper foil, then joined with lead free solder using traditional stained glass techniques. The precise 90-degree connections ensure structural integrity while allowing light and geometry to interact elegantly.
 
Unique Color-Shifting Design
 
The six-panel snowflake features three pairs of dichroic glass:
Two blue pieces reflecting warm orange
Two amber pieces reflecting cool blue
Two magenta pieces reflecting vibrant green
 
Layered colors and beveled edges produce rich, prismatic reflections. Each panel interacts with the others, creating evolving color mixes that shift with sunlight and perspective.
