Welcome to Glass on Hudson

An artist boutique specializing in handcrafted 3D stained glass sculpture art, based in the charming town of Croton-on-Hudson, New York.

Our journey began with a deep fascination for the timeless beauty of stained glass and its magical ability to transform light into vibrant displays of color. What started as a small home studio project has since grown into a full-fledged boutique, rooted in craftsmanship, creativity, and a love for the medium.

We work with the finest Bullseye stained glass, sourced from Portland, Oregon, and each piece is meticulously crafted in the traditional Tiffany style by Elle and Albert. Our collection features distinctive stained glass ornaments and decorative glassware that blend classical techniques with a modern aesthetic.

At Glass on Hudson, we are committed to both sustainability and quality. Every piece is thoughtfully designed to be as durable as it is beautiful—created to enchant, captivate, and bring a touch of elegance to your space.

This spring, I’ll be saying goodbye to a few of my beloved 3D glass sculptures—specifically the orbs and spinners made with clear square glass.

Originally designed in 2023, these pieces have been a signature part of the Glass on Hudson collection. For the past two years, they’ve been cherished by many—and even now, they’re still in demand. 🙏 But I’ve decided it’s time to reimagine them: revamping the structure, exploring new colors, and creating elevated designs to debut in fall/winter 2025.

It’s never easy to discontinue a piece that holds so much meaning for both me and my customers—but I’m ready to move forward.

As my spring show season nears its end, I’ve been reflecting on the incredible artists I’ve met and the creative moments that have made this journey so special.

One of the standout memories was meeting the artist @silentforestmobiles at a Manhattan @grandbazaarnyc show—his booth felt like a peaceful forest escape, and I could’ve stayed there all day. I brought home a nostalgic little figure from his collection that I absolutely love. His work inspired me to start creating my own tiny stained glass village, using dichroic glass. It’s been such a joy watching visitors light up with smiles when they spot these tiny treasures @westchestercraftcrawl

Over the past year, I’ve met so many amazing artists and crafters through in-person art and craft markets around the NYC area. It’s been such a rewarding experience to finally connect with artists I’d only admired on Instagram—to see their work up close and have real conversations. Their work feels like “respectful cultivation" 🌿

I always wonder where my suncatchers end up after a show—how they’re displayed, where they hang, and whether they catch the sunlight just right. It’s meaningful to see each piece find a new home, and to know my customers see them not just as decor, but as little glass sculptures. ✨

This was taken just before the show began last weekend at the Metropolitan Pavilion—my fourth time showing with @renegadecraft NYC. ✨ The lighting this time was perfect for showcasing stained glass, and I was lucky to have a beautiful spot where the spotlight really brought my pieces to life. 🌈

What touched me most were the returning customers—some who had purchased from me before—stopping by to say hello and share how much they still enjoy the prisms and colors dancing through the light. I’m deeply grateful for their kindness, continued support, and genuine appreciation for handmade art and craft. 💛

Looking ahead, I’m inspired to keep creating —refining my craftsmanship, elevating the quality of my glass, and focusing even more on transparency and detail for Glass on Hudson.

I hope to return to this wonderful show @renegadecraft in the future, and I highly recommend it to fellow artists and makers.

✈️ First Stained Glass Airplane

This 3D stained glass airplane holds a special place in my heart. It was the very first piece my middle child and I created together during the pandemic—back in 2020, when I first began learning stained glass. He was in 7th grade, and with schools closed, we spent our days designing, crafting, and transforming a simple paper airplane into a beautiful stained glass piece. I was mesmerized by the magic of 3D geometric stained glass art.

Now, as he @ericm17_ prepares for his next journey—heading off to college this fall—this piece brings back so many cherished memories. Time truly flies, just like this little plane. ✨

Last year, my first show wasn’t until May, but this time, I’m kicking off the season early. I came across the Art Market at Grounds For Sculpture @groundsforsculpture in South NJ on Instagram and applied right away, drawn to the opportunity to showcase my stained glass surrounded by breathtaking sculptures.

Set in a stunning 42-acre sculpture park, Grounds For Sculpture is the perfect place to wander, explore, and get inspired. I’ll be there March 22-23. Excited for this weekend and looking forward to setting up my indoor booth in a gallery-style space—a unique setting.

I’m excited to share that I’ve been accepted to Renegade @renegadecraft New York City. This will be my fourth time participating since 2024, and I feel honored to be part of it. I only wish I had discovered this show earlier.

Renegade has been a leading voice in contemporary craft and design for over 20 years, known for its high-quality, well-curated, and inspiring events.

Personally, it’s the most artistically curated show I’ve joined, and I always learn so much from the millennial generation of makers. The energy is young and vibrant, with incredible color choices and thoughtful visual merchandising—so fresh and stylish.

Over time, my craftsmanship has evolved, and I’ve continuously pushed my designs to be more unique. As artists, we pour our hearts into our work, but I’ve realized how vulnerable handmade designs can be to imitation. Seeing my crane pattern copied and sold on Etsy was disheartening, but instead of dwelling on it, I’ve chosen to innovate, refine, and evolve my design—making it even more special and distinct.

At shows, I’ve met fellow stained glass artists who openly ask to take photos and learn from my work, and I appreciate their honesty. We all grow by learning from one another. This Prism Dichroic Crane has been a labor of love, evolving over time, and I couldn’t be happier with how it’s turned out💎✨

This year has been an incredible journey, traveling from upstate New York to Brooklyn for various shows and fairs.

Along the way, I’ve discovered lifestyles so different and diverse from my quiet life in Croton-on-Hudson, NY @villageofcroton Each location has given me fresh perspectives and insights into how people live, their values, and the creative ways they approach life. This year, I had the joy of participating in around 35 shows, traveling from upstate New York to Brooklyn. Each market, fair, and festival brought its own unique charm, but @renegadecraft truly stands out as a favorite—a show I hope to return to again.

Renegade’s creativity, authenticity, and dedication to craftsmanship are so inspiring. It challenges me to push my creative boundaries, experiment with new styles, and expand my collections in fresh, artistic ways. I also really value their transparency during the application process—it’s rare and so appreciated as an artist.

✨ Last year, participating in the Hudson Valley Artisan Markets in Kingston, NY hosted by @circlecreativecollective, was an eye-opening experience for Glass on Hudson. It felt like stepping into an entirely new universe.

It was my first time visiting Kingston, and I signed up for the show purely out of curiosity, with no prior connections or insights about the market or location. What I discovered was truly magical: the organizers were welcoming, thoughtful, and generous, and the vendors were incredibly talented and inspiring.

For the first time, I felt a genuine longing to belong to an artistic community. This show embodied everything I had envisioned for arts and crafts—professional, community-driven, and authentic. Even more, the shoppers truly appreciated the work, which made the experience all the more rewarding.

That moment became the starting point of my journey into in-person sales outlets.

This year, I’m happy to return to the Hudson Valley Artisan Markets in Kingston, NY, on November 29-30. Thank you, @circlecreativecollective @old_dutch_church_kingston for having me —I can’t wait to celebrate the holidays with such an inspiring community once again!

This year, I designed a special stained glass ornament using Bullseye collage glass. The moment I saw the vibrant, artistic patterns on the glass sheet, I knew it would inspire a new creation. The glass itself is so expressive and full of personality that I wanted my design to truly highlight its uniqueness.

Among all the ornaments I’ve made, this piece has become a personal favorite. Visitors to my 10x10 booth are always fascinated by its artistic nature—it immediately grabs their attention. At the same time, its abstract style invites a moment of reflection to fully connect with it. This ornament motivates me to keep refining and expanding this line for future fine art and craft shows.

Last week, at my first Artrider show in Westport, CT, I experienced firsthand how uncertain times can influence shoppers. With the stock market fluctuating during the election, it seemed people were more cautious about making purchases. Still, the connections I made were incredibly meaningful, and sometimes my customers’ creative ideas take me in unexpected new directions! 🎨

Two customers asked if I could make my origami crane with a prism effect, incorporating rainbow hues and dichroic colors. It was an exciting challenge, as I typically let traditional stained glass colors speak for themselves—but their interest sparked something new! After the show @artridercrafts I set to work on a beveled dichroic crane that reflects mesmerizing rainbow patterns. Watching it come to life reminded me of the inspiration that comes from in-person events—my customers’ ideas often shine brighter than I could imagine!

This new triangle shape was a true labor of love, crafted with precise diamond cuts down to the millimeter. I’m so excited to share this custom piece at my holiday shows! 🌈✨ @artscouncilofprinceton @thefarmhouseproject @renegadecraft @circlecreativecollective @fadmarket

This Saturday, I’m excited to step out of my usual show range—typically within 30 minutes to 1.5 hours from Kingston to Brooklyn—and venture into New Jersey for the first time! Instead of sticking close to home, I’m taking on the challenge and following my curiosity to the Sauce for the Goose Outdoor Art Market in Princeton, about two hours away. Curated by the Arts Council of Princeton @artscouncilofprinceton the event will feature nearly 100 unique artists and makers. The weather looks promising, with no rain expected, making it a perfect day to explore this beautiful college town @princeton

This will be my final outdoor show of the year with a tent setup. After Princeton, I’ll be diving right into preparations for the rest of my holiday show lineup:

I’m happy to make my Artrider @artridercrafts debut at CraftWestport! 🎪This show, organized by Artrider and featuring 175 talented artists and makers, came highly recommended by a customer I met at a Hudson Valley show, and I’ve been preparing for nearly a year.

Although I was originally accepted in January, I hesitated due to the high booth fee $745 🤪 especially considering the unique nature of stained glass art. Each of my pieces is 100% handmade by myself, crafted using premium glass sourced from Portland, Oregon and created with traditional Tiffany methods. With no outsourcing, covering high booth fees can be challenging, as it doesn’t always align with my average transaction amount.

For CraftWestport, I’m elevating my designs with high-end dichroic glass to showcase the artistry of my stained glass creations. I’m also excited to feature an exclusive collection of holiday-themed ornaments and, for the first time, my 3D dichroic glass star pieces.

I can’t wait to connect with new customers in Connecticut and see how they respond to this collection!

This year, I participated in several shows across NYC, including Renegade Chelsea, Not a Normal Chelsea, Renegade Brooklyn, the Museum of the City of NY, FAD Dumbo, and the Invisible Dog Art Center. It’s been such a learning experience! I’ve noticed that my larger, more dimensional pieces may not always resonate with the younger NYC crowd, where space is often limited. It’s made me reflect on how my work fits into different markets.

Kris @jkcustomfurniture who was born and raised in Brooklyn, mentioned something that really struck me—she rarely sells there anymore because her products don’t always translate to city living. Small apartments, eating out more than at home, and a younger demographic that may not always gravitate toward handmade work all play a role.

But I’m excited to step out of my comfort zone and give it another go at the Renegade Brooklyn Holiday Show @renegadecraft in December! Based on my NYC experience, I’ve created more affordable dichroic suncatchers and plant stakes. I’m also planning to elevate my booth’s visual merchandising with whimsical wire flowers by @minniemadeny on Hudson Valley driftwood bases, alongside my flower suncatchers. I hope the connection to nature from the Hudson Valley will captivate the city crowd. 🌿

When it comes to creating stained glass using the Tiffany method, there aren’t many young artists in this category, and I think that’s due to the amount of planning and effort involved. Sourcing glass sheets and clusters, cutting, grinding, foiling, soldering, applying oxidation, and cleaning—all of these steps require meticulous attention and a designated studio space. Beyond creativity and artistic expression, there’s also the need to manage an inventory of tools and glass sheets in various colors and thicknesses. It’s the most complex planning I’ve ever experienced.

Out of all the steps, my favorite part is the R&D process with @eric.min17 where I develop my 3D glass sculptures. This summer, I spent a lot of time exploring ways to differentiate my work and create a signature style for Glass on Hudson—something that truly captures my artistic vision. One of the most fulfilling aspects is working on the 3D jigs with my middle child in high school @croton_hs We use 3D printing @bambulab_official to create tools for my designs, and collaborating with him has been a true joy.🎁

When I think of Warwick, NY, two things always come to mind: 🍎apple picking and ⚾️ baseball tournaments with my kids. But this summer, I discovered a whole new side of Warwick at the Full Moon Festival. The kids’ arts and crafts activities there brought back memories of when my own children were in preschool.

I was mesmerized by a large chamber orchestra playing on a warm summer night as I passed through an open space on Main Street—it was something I had never seen before. 🎶✨

I also met @andymals4 one of the most whimsical artists I’ve ever encountered, which made the experience even more special. This Saturday, October 12th, from 10am to 5pm, I’ll be showcasing my stained glass art at the Maker Market, hosted by Wickham Works at Lewis Park, 74 Main Street. @wickhamworksmakerspace

This video captures the moments from when I participated in the Holiday Art Boutique at Pelham Art Center @pelhamartcenter in 2023. It was an eye-opening experience, marking the start of my journey into in-person markets for my stained glass art. 🌟

The Pelham Art Center staff were kind and professional, and the space was warm and inviting—a beautiful setting to display my stained glass ornaments. The way they showcased my work was truly enlightening; they knew exactly how to present my art with perfect visual merchandising. ✨

In hindsight, I realized my pricing and merchandising weren’t quite ready due to my lack of experience, but now I feel much more confident about meeting artistic demand with the right pricing and preparation. While I’d love to return, this year I’m facing a shortage of inventory and production time for the holiday season.

Nevertheless, I’m so grateful for the experience, and it’s been a valuable learning curve. If I have the opportunity in the future, I’d love to be part of this wonderful event again! 🎄

✨ Pricing handmade art is such an emotional and complex process, especially when each piece reflects my vision and hard work. When I sell calligraphy supplies, it’s easy to base prices on clear costs and margins, but stained glass is different. Mass production formulas just don’t apply to Tiffany-style craftsmanship, where planning, safety, and precision are everything.

Pricing art requires finding the balance between honoring the value of each piece and having the confidence to reflect that in the price. It’s personal, but it’s about staying true to the time, effort, and love that go into each creation.

My first fine art festival at the Voice of Art in CT @thevoiceofart was amazing. I loved every moment, especially the beautiful setting with my booth nestled under big trees, providing shade and sunlight all day long. The peaceful atmosphere allowed me to truly connect with visitors. While the crowd wasn’t huge, those who came really appreciated my glass art. This show felt like the perfect fit, and I’m excited to return next year. I’d also recommend it to fellow artists. 🌸

✨ Each stained glass crane I create is truly one-of-a-kind, like a snowflake—no two are ever the same. I love playing with color variations using dichroic glass and bullseyeglass making each piece unique and special. Unlike my prism suncatchers, these glass cranes often connect with artists and crafters.

Some customers take their time before purchasing. I had one visitor come back three times last weekend before finally saying, "Now I’m ready to buy this." I never rush anyone—art like this takes time to fully appreciate, and I hope these glass arts are cherished for years to come.

✨ Whenever I have a show, my husband takes care of the logistics and booth setup🎪 — I couldn’t do this without him. He recently made such a thoughtful observation about vendors: there seem to be two types. Some create with the intention to sell, while others simply love making things so much that they eventually run out of space or supplies and have to sell just to keep creating. ✨

It’s a reminder for me not to chase trends or feel pressured by demands. 🌸—be true to yourself—and I know it’s not always easy, even harder.

I’ve been curious about the label, artist because people label me in so many ways— artist, silhouette artist, calligrapher, crafter, seller, vendor, maker, glassworker even fine artist. And I wonder, “Am I 😳?”

Sometimes, my customers seem more sophisticated than me—more artistic, more subtle in their understanding of art. After meeting a ceramic artist @lemnhemstudios at FAD Dumbo market, I realized that being an artist is more about how we frame and approach our craft.✨

✨ Last weekend, I had the pleasure of being part of the FAD Market @fadmarket at Empire Stores in Dumbo, Brooklyn @empirestoresdumbo The location is beautiful, with stunning sunsets peeking through the skyline and incredible river views. 🌇 Dumbo has transformed so much post-9/11; it really feels like Chelsea 2.0 as my fellow artist @_resetreality mentioned.

Saturday’s rain made me grateful for an indoor show, and while the market is perfect for tourists, I realized my glass pieces may not be the easiest to carry for those traveling. Despite that, I’m happy to to meet people who truly appreciate the craftsmanship behind stained glass art!

✨ The reality of creating

Today was all about grinding—so much that my back was aching by the end! I had to open the studio door just to keep the air circulating and manage all that glass dust.

Working with stained glass, especially in the Tiffany style, is definitely a challenging process. From high heat to sharp edges (and inevitable finger cuts), it’s a labor of love that requires safety, patience, and dedication.

It’s surprising how underappreciated stained glass art can be in comparison to other categories 😳 The perceived value is often so low, but I have deep respect for the young artists I’ve met in the metro area who continue to create beautiful works 💕

New creation 🌸flower on beveled stained glass! One of my customers, who I met at the Cold Spring NY show @hhmodernmakersmarket encouraged me to take on this new challenge with my sun-catchers, and I’m so glad I did.

The process was complicated —applying the wavy copper foil and resin evenly while keeping the soldering smooth with a consistent texture, especially given the thickness of the oval beveled glass, was no easy task.

🌿 Seeing the final result hanging in the window makes it all worth it. I’m absolutely in love with how it turned out!

🌟 @fadmarket FAD Market’s Fall Pop-up on September 7th and 8th at Empire Stores in Dumbo, Brooklyn 🎪This will be my first time showcasing at Dumbo with a cozy 4ft table setup indoors.

While prepping, I just discovered there’s no overnight storage available onsite, 😳so I’ll be packing up everything each night and bringing it back again on Sunday. It’s all about adapting and problem-solving 🤪

Heading to Brooklyn definitely comes with its challenges, especially with logistics compared to the Hudson Valley area. NYC life seems intense, and it’s no wonder so many people move upstate NY for a change of pace. But there are something special about the energy and creativity.✨

I’m already committed to a show @poundridgeflea in Pound Ridge that day, so my schedule is sandwiched for the first time. Thankfully, 😻 @moozy.min is able to help me out. A year ago, a customer introduced me to the wonders of dichroic glass and I’ve been mesmerized ever since 🌸This special glass shines brilliantly, even at night.

Did you know that dichroic glass technology was developed by NASA? Originally, it was used to shield spacecraft instruments from cosmic radiation and protect human vision from unfiltered sunlight in space. The thin films of metal vacuum deposited on the glass create that unique, glowing effect.

Sometimes, I think science and art are two separate worlds, but they’re deeply connected. I could watch the colors shift and change all day + night 🌈✨
